Jalandhar: In a startling incident late last night, the proprietor of Sweety Juice Bar in a bustling Jalandhar market was robbed at gunpoint. The entire episode was recorded by the shop’s CCTV camera.
Anmol, the victim, recounted the events: while he was having dinner, three masked individuals arrived on an unmarked black Activa scooter. One of them brandished a pistol and immediately threatened Anmol, demanding key of the safe. Despite Anmol’s resistance, they assaulted him with a pickaxe and struck him with the pistol’s handle.
After coercing the keys from Anmol, the assailants made off with approximately 15,000 to 20,000 rupees in cash and gold bracelet from the safe. Anmol attempted to pursue them, but they overwhelmed him and escaped.
The CCTV footage captured two of the robbers entering the shop, while the third remained outside on the Activa. It also recorded the violent attack on Anmol.
Law enforcement authorities were promptly notified and arrived to initiate an investigation. A police official confirmed that the robbers, armed with firearms and other weapons, successfully fled with the stolen cash and jewelry.
The investigation continues as authorities scrutinize the CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators and apprehend them.
