Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh’s membership challenged, hearing in High Court today

Chandigarh: Punjab’s Khadoor Sahib MP and Khalistan supporter Amritpal’s membership has been challenged in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The matter will be heard in the High Court today, i.e. on Tuesday. This petition has been filed on behalf of Vikramjit Singh, who contested the election as an independent from Khadoor Sahib. In the petition filed by him, he has made serious allegations of Amritpal Singh hiding information about himself.

Five things have been challenged in the petition

Vikramjit has made the Election Commission, the Expense Officer of the Punjab Election Commission, the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab and the Returning Officer of Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituency a party in the case. He has stated in his petition that nomination paper of Khadoor Sahib MP is incomplete. Information about funds, donations, and expenses have been hidden.

He also alleged that religious places have been used to seek votes while the election campaign material was printed without approval. He also added that promotion was done on social media without taking permission from the Election Commission.

Amritpal Singh’s huge victory from Khadoor Sahib

Warris Punjab de Chief and Sikh Radical Amritpal Singh contested the Lok Sabha elections from inside the jail. He did not even come to campaign in his area, but despite this, he had achieved the biggest victory. His supporters and family members took charge of the campaign. Amritpal defeated Congress candidate Kulbir Singh Zira by 1,97,120 votes.
