Kharar: In Kharar of Mohali district, the police have arrested two persons from different places with illegal weapons. One of them has been identified as Amandeep Singh living in SBP City of Dreams Kharar, and the other has been identified as Rishabh Kumar living in the same society.
The police have recovered a country-made pistol and three live cartridges from the possession of Amandeep. At the same time, the police have recovered a pistol and two live cartridges from Rishabh Kumar.
Harpreet Singh, an officer of the CIA staff of Mohali, said that the police had set up a checkpost near Chandigarh University. Then they got information that a person in a Maruti Wagon R car number PB01 C 6208 is coming towards Kharar. Who has an illegal weapon? After which the car was stopped at the checkpost, and illegal weapons were recovered from the car during checking. When Amandeep Singh could not show the license, he was arrested.
In another case, Jatinder Singh of Special Cell said that the police had launched a checking campaign near Gurudwara Sahib village, Sante Majra. Then information was received that a person is staying in a flat in SBP City of Dreams in Kharar. He has illegal weapons. Then the police raided the said flat and arrested the accused along with the weapon. A case has been registered against both the accused under the Arms Act, and an investigation has been started.
