Kharar: A contract employee of Powercom died due to electrocution in Kharar. The deceased has been identified as Satwinder Singh (29) from Rajpura.
Protesting against the tragic incident, the other contractual employees of the Powercom department launched a protest. The employees protested against Powercom dept and the Punjab government. They held a dharna (demonstration) in front of the office of the Electricity Board in Kharar.
Balihar Singh, the state president of the contractual employees of the Punjab Electricity Department, said that the protest against the higher authorities will continue until the family of the deceased is given compensation and a permanent job by the government.
As per the information available, Satwinder Singh got electrocuted while fixing electricity in Kharar. Satwinder Singh is a resident of Rajpura and has a four-year-old son.
