Kuwait Fire Incident: 2 people from Haryana-Punjab also died; had gone to earn livelihood

Chandigarh: Out of the 52 people killed in the Kuwait fire, 45 are Indians. Their bodies have been brought to the country today. Among these people, one person was from Yamunanagar in Haryana and one from Hoshiarpur in Punjab. These people had gone to Kuwait years ago to earn livelihood.

Their families still live here. Both the deceased have been identified as Anil Giri resident of Vijay Colony Yamunanagar Haryana (originally a resident of Gopalganj in Bihar) and Himmat Rai resident of Jyoti Enclave Haryana Road Hoshiarpur Punjab.

Anil was a welding assistant

Anil, a resident of Yamunanagar, went to Kuwait about 5 years ago. His family was living in Yamunanagar itself. Anil got work as a welding assistant in Kuwait. It is being told that he was the youngest among 4 siblings.

His family is among those living below the poverty line (BPL). Anil Giri has 2 children, who are studying. Both are minors.

Family left for Bihar

As soon as the family received the information, they left for Bihar. Anil’s last rites will be performed in his native village.

Himmat Rai went to Kuwait 30 years ago On the other hand, Hoshiarpur resident Himmat Rai son of Ramlal went to Kuwait 30 years ago. There he was the foreman of NBTC Steel Fabric Company. Himmat’s wife Sarabjit Kaur and 3 children are living here in Hoshiarpur. His wife has told that Himmat was the only earning member in their house. Sarabjit Kaur has demanded a government job for the child.

The administration assured help to families

On the other hand, Hoshiarpur DC Komal Mittal has said that the administration will provide all possible help to the victim’s family. Himmat’s dead body will reach Delhi today. An ambulance has already been sent to bring him to his hometown.
