Last prayer meet for deceased of Hooch tragedy in Gujran, Harpal Cheema says, ‘Every possible help to family’

Sangrur: Last prayer meet of 7 people who died due to consumption of spurious liquor was held here at village Gujran, Dirba of Sangrur. Leaders of various political parties, representatives of religious organizations and leaders of social organizations participated in the last prayer held for seven deceased. The entire community of the area paid tribute to the deceased and shared the grief with the family.

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema too participated in the last prayers on behalf of the government. Member of Parliament Simranjit Singh Mann, former Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa, former Minister Baldev Singh Mann, former MLA Surjit Singh Dhiman were also present.

 Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Punjab government stands with the families of the victims and all the demands made by the families including the formation of action committee will be fulfilled.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has also shared his grief with the families. In the midst of this grief, leaders of many opposition parties are coming to take political advantage. While there have been bigger cases of adulterated liquor during their governments in which hundreds of lives have been lost, these leaders have remained silent.

 On this occasion, Pritam Singh Peetu, chairman of Improvement Trust Sangrur, Karan Ghuman of Akali Dal, Guljar Singh Moonak, Jagdev Singh Gaga, Satnam Singh Satta, Harpal Singh Khadial, Ajaib Singh Ratolan, leaders of labor organizations and leaders of other political parties were present.
