Lawlessness at peak as Man shot dead by snatchers in Amritsar

Amritsar: In another incident exposing the lawlessness, robbers shot a man just because he was not giving his phone to them in Amritsar. The young man died during treatment. The police have registered a case against the accused and started action.

25-year-old Anil Kumar, a resident of UP, used to drive a combine in Wadala Johal, Amritsar. On the morning of 21st September, around 9.30 am, he was sitting on a cot outside where he worked in Wadala Johal and was looking at his phone. Meanwhile, three miscreants came on a bike and started snatching the phone from him. Anil refused to give up the phone and started opposing the robbers, on which the accused took out a pistol and shot him.

The bullet hit him near the chest, after which the accused fled from the spot. Then his brother and other laborers who were eating inside came out after hearing the sound and took him to the hospital where he died during treatment the next day.

Roshan Kumar, brother of the deceased, said that his brother had come here from UP to work and suddenly this accident happened. Roshan demanded that his brother should be given justice and accused should be arrested as soon as possible.

The police of Wadala Johal police station got the post-mortem of the body done today and handed it over to the family. According to the police, the case is being investigated. CCTVs are also being searched and the accused will be arrested soon.
