Lok Adalat to be held in Jalandhar on May 24

The Lok Adalat, which was cancelled due to the Indo-Pak war in Jalandhar, has been resumed. The next Lok Adalat will be held on May 24, which was earlier cancelled after an order issued on May 10. In view of the war-like situation in the city, orders were issued by Jalandhar DC Himanshu Agarwal regarding this. Now after the situation in the city has become normal, the Lok Adalat has been started again.

An order issued by Jalandhar DC Himanshu Agarwal said that the District Legal Services Authority is organizing a National Lok Adalat in the judicial courts of Jalandhar City, Nakodar and Phillaur on May 24. The DC further said that, in the Lok Adalat, pending civil and criminal cases as well as pre-litigation cases of other institutions like banks, electricity department, and financial institutions will be heard and decided through compromise.

CJM said- Meeting held with bank-insurance officials regarding Lok Adalat

CJM and Secretary District Legal Services Authority Jalandhar Rahul Kumar Azad said that meetings have been held with bank officials and insurance company officials and they will be encouraged to send pending cases in various courts and such pre-litigation cases for settlement through mutual agreement, so that as many cases as possible can be settled as soon as possible.
