Ludhiana: A case of death of a 19-year-old youth due to drug overdose has come to light in Ludhiana, Punjab. People also made a video of how the youth died after the overdose. This heart-wrenching video of the unending menace has put the claims of the government and administration
The name of the deceased youth is Deepak (19). The deceased Deepak was a resident of Rahon Road. At present, the police is investigating the matter. Today Deepak’s postmortem will be done, which will reveal the real cause of death. Later the post-mortem, the body of the youth will be given to the family for the last rites.
The incident is from New Bajwa Nagar where two friends gave an overdose of drugs to the third one. After he became unconscious, the boy lost his control and hit his head with the stone. People nearby captured the entire incident on their camera.
Seeing people around, both the friends ran away. Seeing the youth lying unconscious, people immediately informed the ambulance and police control room. With the help of police personnel, the unconscious youth was taken to the doctor but the doctor declared him dead.
Businessman Harpreet Singh who lives nearby said that people come to the plot every day to consume drugs. The police patrol the area and have caught drug addicts many times but the situation is such that there is no change. Despite this, there is a constant flow of drug addicts in the plot. He added that the police should make rounds of empty plots on a routine basis. Regarding this matter, ASI Jaswinder Singh of Police Station Division Number 4 said that the matter is being investigated.
