Ludhiana: 2 injured critically after LPG Cylinder exploded, house collapsed

Ludhiana: A gas cylinder exploded in a house in Ludhiana, Punjab on Thursday, after which the house caught fire. After the fire, the mother and son present in the house got badly burnt and were referred to PGI.

The incident took place in Rajiv Gandhi Colony located at Focal Point, Ludhiana, where a huge explosion took place in a house at around 8 am and later the fire engulfed the entire house.

Debris scattered in nearby houses

After the explosion, the debris of the house scattered in nearby areas. Colony head Vijayendra Kumar said that when the fire broke out, the mother and son were at home. Son works as a laborer in a nearby factory. After the explosion, the debris scattered in the nearby houses. The fire brigade was also informed by people nearby. Fire tenders came to the spot and controlled the fire.

Fire broke out while preparing breakfast in the morning-

As per the mother, she was preparing breakfast for her son Sonu, when she started making tea, suddenly the gas cylinder exploded and the house caught fire.

Hearing the noise, the people around somehow took her and her son out of the house but by then the son had been burnt. Lalita told that her son is ten years old and she is a widow. She works in a factory to run the house.

Son referred to PGI

After the incident, the mother and son got burnt but due to the son’s condition being more serious, he has been referred to PGI Chandigarh. Victim Lalita has demanded compensation from the government and administration. She told that her house has also been burnt in the incident.
