Unknown miscreants attacked BJP leader Naman Bansal in Gopal Nagar on Tibba Road in Ludhiana on Friday night. The accused first slapped Naman and then attacked him on the back with a sickle.
In a blood-soaked condition, Naman managed to save his life by going to a nearby shop and informed his friends. His friends who reached the spot took him to the Civil Hospital, where stitches were put on his back.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place around 10:30 pm when some youths were seen fighting near Gopal Nagar Chowk. There is also a possibility of firing during this time, although it is not clear who fired the bullet. The police of the Tibba police station have been informed about the matter, and an investigation is going on.
Was getting threats for 3 days
Giving information, injured Naman said that he is the vice-president of the BJP Youth. His shop is in Gopal Nagar. He had also received threats 2 to 3 days ago. He had left the shop at night like everyday. Then some youths were doing a recce around the shop, but he did not pay much attention.
“As soon as I went a little ahead, those youths stopped me and asked What is your name. When I told them my name, they said that you are lying about name. Meanwhile, some youths came running on the road. They had sharp weapons in their hands. As soon as they came, they first slapped me and then attacked me with sharp weapons”, said injured Naman.
