Ludhiana: Brawl erupts between two groups outside Civil Hospital; bricks, stones pelted

Ludhiana: A massive brawl broke out near civil hospital Ludhiana. This is the third incident of violence in a week has come to light at the Civil Hospital under Thana Division Number of Ludhiana. At around 10:45 pm, a clash broke out between two groups fiercely outside the police post of the hospital. They attacked each other with sharp weapons and bricks. The fight and ruckus continued outside the police post but no officer came out from inside the police post even after hearing the noise.

When the matter escalated, two police personnel deployed in the emergency reached the spot and took stock of the situation. A person was seriously injured after being hit by a brick on the forehead, and was referred to CMC Hospital by the doctors.

Giving information, Iftikar said that he lives near Gurmel Park. Today, a father-son living in the neighborhood suddenly attacked a person named Madan in the street. Madan’s head was fractured, due to which he was to the Civil Hospital for a medical checkup.

The attacking father-son reached the Civil Hospital too and suddenly started throwing bricks. Some armed people were also with them. Shanu’s forehead was fractured due to the brick hitting him. He was admitted to the hospital, but the doctors referred him to CMC.

The injured Shanu said that neighbors fought with each other on Tibba Road. He had come to the hospital to get a medical checkup of one party done, but in the meantime, two people from the other party started throwing bricks and stones. At present, a medical checkup of both parties has been done. Both parties have filed complaints in Tibba police station.
