Ludhiana: Last night in Ludhiana, a young man committed suicide by hanging himself in his room. The neighbours of the deceased saw the body hanging from the fan with the help of a dupatta and immediately tried to save him by breaking the door, but the young man had already died. 23-year-old deceased Lovepreet was the only son of the family.
Lovepreet’s maternal uncle said that late in the evening, Lovepreet’s mother had gone to the market for some work. As soon as she returned from the market, the door of the room was closed. Lovepreet’s neighbours saw his body hanging from the noose in the room.
The neighbours broke the door and entered the room. People immediately informed the police. According to the maternal uncle, Lovepreet used to work in a CCTV cafe in a private hospital. He had returned from Singapore some time ago. It is said that he was keen to go abroad again and he used to ask his family members for the same.
ASI Nirmal Singh of Thana Tibba added that the police have not found any suicide note near the body. At present, the police have kept the body in the civil hospital for postmortem.
