Ludhiana’s CETP plant will not be closed, says Director Chauhan said

Ludhiana: Yesterday, members of Kala Pani Morcha protested fiercely against the dyeing industry in Ludhiana. These leaders were coming to build a dam to close the old drain so that chemical-laden water would not fall into the Sutlej River. Police detained more than 100 people including Kala Pani Morcha leaders Lakha Sadhana, and Sonia Mann. Yesterday, there was a jam on Ferozepur Road all day.

Meanwhile, the news of the STP plant being closed came to light, after which the protest was removed. But late at night, Kamal Chauhan, director of Punjab Dyeing Association, released a video. He has clearly said that false news of the STP plant being closed is being spread. No STP plant will be closed. They have a stay order from NGT.

Kamal Chauhan said that the date in this case was on 2 December 2024. According to Chauhan, Kala Pani Morcha members Kapil Arora and Jaskirat Singh were also present in this online date. The stay of the dyeing industry has been extended till 20 March 2025. Due to this, no STP plant will be closed now. Chauhan said that he is putting forward his views legally on this issue.
