Delhi minister and BJP national secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Thursday urged Ludhiana voters to defeat Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Sanjeev Arora in the upcoming by-election.

Addressing a press conference at the Punjab BJP office here, Sirsa alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was trying to gain control over Punjab. “Kejriwal, who once considered himself the owner of Delhi, is now not even a tenant there,” he said.

He appealed to Ludhiana voters to reject AAP’s candidate. “Defeat Sanjeev Arora. Elect anyone else, but do not let Kejriwal take control of Punjab,” he added.Sirsa also dismissed speculation about a possible BJP alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).

“We contested the 2022 Assembly elections and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections independently in Punjab. We will continue to fight alone in the future,” he said.
