Delhi woman dies after falling from hotel balcony in Zirakpur; investigations underway

Mohali: A married woman who had come to visit Chandigarh from Delhi died after falling from the second floor of a hotel in Zirakpur. As soon as the information was received, Dhakoli police reached the spot, took the body into their custody, and took it to the hospital. The family members have been informed and asked to appear at the police station and record their statements.

The deceased woman has been identified as Shrishti’s wife, Hrithik, a resident of Delhi, who was resting on the balcony. The police have recorded the statement of deceased Shrishti’s husband, Hrithik. The family members of the deceased have been informed.

Dhakoli police station in-charge Gurmehar Singh said that the deceased Shrishti had come to visit Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh with her husband and other couples. A room was booked in the RS Kings Hotel in the Ajit Enclave of Dhakoli, located on the Zirakpur-Panchkula Highway.

A police investigation revealed that Shrishti was also admitted to a private hospital a day earlier after feeling dizzy. She was discharged after receiving first aid. When Shrishti felt dizzy again, she got up and sat on the balcony of the room on the second floor. Meanwhile, husband Hrithik had gone to a restaurant with other couples to have breakfast.

Hrithik told his wife that as soon as she felt better, would come down and have breakfast. After some time, it was found that Shrishti suddenly fell from the balcony in the colony lane behind the hotel. As soon as he found out about this, Hrithik picked her up and took her to the hospital. After examination, doctors declared Shrishti dead.
