Massive fire in yarn factory in Ludhiana: Caaused by short-circuit, Firefighters break down wall to extinguish flames

Ludhiana: A massive fire broke out in the Vernical Trader Yarn Factory near Samrala Chowk in Ludhiana. Yarn worth lakhs of rupees was burnt to ashes due to the fire. According to the information, more than 6 tons of yarn was stored inside the factory. Today suddenly smoke started coming out of the factory warehouse. People living nearby informed the factory owner.

The cause of the fire seems to be a short circuit. The workers working in the factory were evacuated safely. Giving information, factory owner BN Sharma said that the fire was so fierce that the flames were visible from a long distance.

Immediately after the fire broke out, he tried to extinguish the fire himself by taking out the workers, but seeing the fire increase, he informed the fire brigade employees.

Due to the fire being very intense, direct entry into the factory was not possible. Due to this, walls had to be broken in many places. Firemen broke the walls, entered the factory, and started the rescue. Fireman Vijay Kumar said that as soon as the fire was reported, all the police stations were informed and water vehicles were called. So far, more than 7 vehicles have been deployed.

Due to smoke accumulation inside the factory, explosions also took place. Rescue operations are currently underway. Local police have also reached the spot. ASI Jasbir Singh said that relief work is currently underway. People are being prevented from going near the thread factory.
