Amritsar: High voltage drama unfolded here at District Administrative Complex, Amritsar after a girl from Madhya Pradesh climbed atop the commissioner’s office and tried to commit suicide. The girl was later rescued by the staff of the DAC office.
On being asked why she wanted to commit suicide to suicide she disclosed that she is a resident of Madhya Pradesh and met a guy named Onkar Singh of Amritsar through social media. Two months back, when she came to meet him, the local youth had made physical relations with the girl without her consent. He even shot a private video of the and continuously threatened her on the pretext of making the video viral.
When the girl complained to the police, she received death threats and was forced to get married to a guy in a local gurudwara. Soon after the marriage, the family started harassing her, and she was forced to go back to Madhya Pradesh.
As per the girl, she tried to reach the police, but no action was taken by them following which she went live on Facebook and later climbed atop the administrative complex to commit suicide.
Fortunately, girl was rescued by officials and the police of the respective police station was asked to take action.
