Newly elected Panchs across state to be sworn in on November 19, district level programs to be held

Chandigarh: After the newly elected Sarpanchs in Punjab, now the oath ceremony of the Panchs will be held on November 19. During this, programs will be organized at the district level. Ministers of the government will also participate in the program. Orders have been issued to the DCs of all the districts by the Panchayat Department in this regard. However, during this time the arrangements will be like the state level oath ceremony of Sarpanchs. However,  Panchs will not be sworn in districts where assembly by-elections are being held. They will be sworn in later.

The DC will bear the responsibility of organizing these district-level programs. Ministers will be put on duty in these gatherings. A total of 83 thousand Panchs have been elected in the state. Earlier, the oath ceremony of Sarpanchs elected across Punjab was held in Ludhiana. About 11 thousand Sarpanchs participated in it along with their families.
