No Purchase Day Today; Petrol and Diesel dealers announce complete strike on Feb 22

All the petrol pump owners of Punjab have started their protest regarding the commission. Today all the petrol pump owners in the state have unanimously decided that today no pump owner will buy petrol and diesel from the depot. Today we will sell only the oil available at the pumps.

This will pass the day but tomorrow on Friday people may have to face shortage of petrol and diesel as no oil will be purchased today. Petrol Pump Association President Monty Sehgal said that today has been kept as No Purchase Day. Today only the petrol and diesel which arrived yesterday will be sold.

Pump owners will neither buy nor sell oil on 22nd

Petrol Pump Association President Monty Sehgal said that there will be a complete strike of petrol pump owners on 22nd February. He said that on February 22, petrol pump owners will neither buy nor sell oil.

He said that the association has written several times to the Petroleum Ministry and the Prime Minister’s Office regarding increasing the commission on oil but no one is paying attention to it.

He said that the prices of petrol and diesel are increasing but the government is not increasing their commission. He has demanded from the government that either their 5 percent commission should be increased or the recommendations of 5 percent commission or Apoorva Chandra Committee should be implemented.
