Amritsar: An NRI couple going to Himachal from Amritsar proved costly.
Some attackers from Himachal beat up the Spanish couple. The Spanish wife, her Punjabi husband, and her brother-in-law have been injured in the incident. The condition of the injured Punjab husband remained so serious that he remained unconscious in the hospital for two days. Today, when the victim regained consciousness, the whole matter came to light in front of the media.
Over the parking issue there was an argument with the parking contractor the couple said in Dalhousie. Meanwhile, the contractor gathered more than a hundred people on the spot and attacked his family. The head of the NRI family and his brother were seriously injured.
The Spanish wife of NRI Kanwaljit Singh said that she had gone to visit Himachal Pradesh, where this entire incident took place. The Spanish woman said that we have no security here. We were beaten badly; no one even saved us. They also made a video of the fight, which the Himachal Police deleted from her mobile phone. The woman said that she was saved by the intervention of the police, but her words were not heard.
The victim, NRI Kanwaljit Singh, said that he has been living in Spain for more than 25 years. Now he said that the Punjab government had talked about starting employment in Punjab. Due to this, he left everything with his family and came to Punjab to employ the people of Punjab, but little did he know that the situation was still bad. He said that we had no enmity with anyone; we had just gone to Himachal for a visit, and the people of Himachal attacked us.
Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla reached the hospital to meet the NRI family. When he said that, I demanded from the Himachal government that all the accused be arrested in the case as soon as possible. Class politics should not happen anywhere. Therefore, CM Punjab and Himachal should take action with immediate effect.
