One Year of Kisan Andolan 2.0: Mahapanchayat to be held at Shambhu Border today

Preparations for the Kisan Mahapanchayat to be held at Shambhu border on Thursday i.e. today are in full swing. An important meeting of farmer leaders was held under the leadership of farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher, in which all the necessary preparations for organizing the Mahapanchayat were reviewed. All the arrangements including langar, water, parking, and stage management were discussed in detail in the meeting. Pandher appealed to all farmer-labour organizations and the general public to reach Shambhu border in maximum numbers and make this Mahapanchayat a success. He said that this Mahapanchayat is very important to strengthen the fight for farmers’ rights and its impact will have an impact on the entire country.

He invited all of them to join the program with peace and harmony. During the meeting, the preparations at the Mahapanchayat venue were reviewed and it was ensured that all the necessary facilities were ensured. From the arrangements for langar to the arrangements for water and parking, every aspect was discussed. Farmer leaders say that this Mahapanchayat to be held at Shambhu border will prove to be a historic event, in which farmers will raise their demands more strongly. Through this Mahapanchayat, efforts will be made to unite the farmers so that their voice can be conveyed to the government.

On the other hand, in his statement issued from the Kisan Ekta Samvad held in Chandigarh on Wednesday, Joginder Singh Ugrahan said that the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, a non-political front, is saying that this meeting has been organized without consulting them, while he had written to the front twice inviting them to attend the meeting. A seven-member delegation of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha posted at Shambhu Morcha attended the meeting under the leadership of Sarwan Singh Pandher. Along with this, farmer leader Pandher called on all the farmer leaders present in Chandigarh to reach Shambhu border in maximum number and gather all the farmer laborers.

Along with this, all the farmer leaders present in the Chandigarh Kisan Ekta Samvad demanded from the Punjab government that a special session of the Vidhan Sabha be called and a resolution be passed against the draft of the new agricultural marketing policy being brought by the central government. On this occasion, a large number of farmer leaders including Balbir Singh Rajewal, Joginder Singh Ugrahan, Sarwan Singh Pandher, Lakhwinder Singh Lakhowal were present. During this, the farmer leaders opposed the imposition of stamp duty by the Punjab government on the transfer of property between blood relations in Punjab.
