Amritsar: An orange alert has been issued for rain in Punjab today. This change has happened due to the activation of Western Disturbance. In the last 24 hours, light rain was seen in some areas of Punjab. Today, most of the areas of Punjab will remain cloudy and there are chances of rain with strong winds. There are also chances of hailstorm in many areas.
The maximum temperature in the state has increased by 4.3 degrees Celsius. However, this is 4.1 degrees Celsius more than normal. The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at Abohar at 29.4 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department Center, similar weather is expected today as well. But after that the temperature will decrease by about 3 degrees.
On the other hand, Pathankot recorded 1.8 mm of rain, Gurdaspur 1.7, Amritsar 0.7 and Hoshiarpur 1 mm of rain on the previous day. While Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, SBS Nagar recorded rain.

At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued in Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga, Ludhiana, Barnala, Sangrur, Patiala and Mansa.
