Phagwara: In a shocking incident, more than 20 cows died under suspicious circumstances on Sunday night at Shri Krishna Gaushala Mahligate in Phagwara. It is suspected that the animals were killed by poisoning. Currently, the matter has reached the police and a probe has also started.

The doctors of the animal department are treating the sick cows in the Goshala. As soon as the matter came to light, MP Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal, Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, former minister Som Prakash and many other leaders reached the spot and demanded strict action after investigating the incident.
According to the information received, some miscreants added poison in the feed given to the cows late at night in Shri Krishna Gaushala in Phagwara. After consuming it their health deteriorated.
It is being said that over 20 cows have died and the condition of many is still critical. There is a lot of anger among the people after this incident. At the same time, Hindu organizations have called for a bandh in Phagwara. Hindu leaders have asked people to keep shops closed in Phagwara city from today. Hindu leader expressed their concern over the incident and demanded that the miscreant should be arrested soon by the police.
