Patients should be prescribed ‘salt’ of medicines, says MLA Arora and DC Sarangal

Jalandhar: Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora and Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal said on Wednesday that doctors of Civil Hospital should prescribe ‘salts’ of medicines to the patients coming to them for treatment so that they can buy cheap medicines. He said that medicines of any particular company or brand should not be recommended, which can be bought by the patients not only cheaply but also easily from any shop.

While presiding over the meeting of the Patient Welfare Committee at the District Administrative Complex here, MLA Raman Arora and Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal said that government doctors should prescribe ‘salt’ of medicines so that the patients are not forced to buy expensive medicines. In another order, the MLA and Deputy Commissioner said that after completion of the work of installation of elevators/lifts by December 31, the CS office will soon be shifted to the building of the de-addiction center.

Apart from this, he instructed the officials of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation to collect garbage from the Civil Hospital twice a day and to ensure the cleaning of sewer lines with jet suction machines. He also asked to deploy staff for these works. He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed in providing quality health services to the people by further improving the infrastructure.
