Three arrested in Petrol Bomb and firing attack on property businessman’s home in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: Police have arrested three suspects in connection with a violent petrol bomb and gunfire attack on the residence of property businessman Yadvinder Singh in Baddowal village, located in the Jagaroan area of Ludhiana district.

The arrests were made by the Dakha police nearly 12 days after the incident, identifying the accused as Gurinder Singh Brar alias Guri from Moga’s Nigaal Singh Wala, Baljinder Singh from Bhama Landa Ghal Khurd in Firozpur, and Amrik Singh Wala from Jawahar Singh Wala village.

According to the FIR registered by the property owner, attackers arrived in a white i20 car at approximately 1:45 AM and hurled a petrol bomb at the house, triggering a fire. They also opened fire during the assault. The minor inferno and bullet marks were evident—one reported bullet struck a palm tree planted at the property’s entrance.

No injuries were reported in the attack. Following the incident, Dakha police registered the case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Arms Act, citing charges including Sections 125, 326, along with Arms Act Sections 25, 27, 54, and 59. Investigators have begun further questioning the accused after their court appearance.

Authorities had kept the case under wraps initially, but discussion now indicates that a thorough probe is underway into the motives—likely linked to Yadvinder Singh’s real estate dealings. Police officials have declined to release trial or motive details, citing the sensitivity of the investigation. Some unofficial reports suggest investigators believe the attack to be part of a broader criminal campaign targeting property and landowners .

Law enforcement units have also reviewed CCTV footage and interviewed over 30 locals from nearby villages, seeking to uncover additional leads. The assailants remain at large on the run, and police have reiterated their commitment to swiftly bringing all perpetrators to justice.
