PM Security Lapse Case: Angry Farmers to surround SSP office in Ferozepur

Farmers on the Shambhu and Khanauri border of Punjab and Haryana are busy with a full strategy to make the Mahapanchayats to be held from February 11 to February 13 a success.

At the same time, the issue of imposing Section 307 on farmers in the case of a lapse in security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Punjab three years ago has heated up. Farmers have prepared to surround the Ferozepur SSP office on February 11.

The hunger strike of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has entered its 70th day today (Monday). On the other hand, efforts are also on for the unity of the Sanyukta Kisan Morcha and both fronts. It is expected that a meeting will be held between the two sides soon.

Farmers are protesting against the imposition of Section 307 on farmers in the security lapse case during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab on January 5, 2022, just before the Assembly 2022 elections in Punjab. The revolutionary unions included in the United Kisan Morcha, a non-political Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, have announced a struggle in this matter.

The union leaders have said in a meeting in Bathinda that a false case has been registered against the farmers. No farmer had gone near the Prime Minister. There was no dispute of any kind. Only BJP workers had gone to him. The Punjab government has imposed the wrong sections on the farmers. The government should pass this case, otherwise on February 11, the farmers will protest with full force outside the Ferozepur district administration.
