Jagraon: The police of City Police Station have arrested 3 friends travelling in a car who were involved in a drug smuggling business in Jagraon. Police have recovered drug pills and capsules from the accused. City Police Station has registered a case against the accused.
The arrested accused have been identified as Gurmeet Singh alias Sunny, a resident of Amar Vihar Colony; Gurmukh Singh alias Jaggi, a resident of Hardev Nagar Jagraon; and Nirmal Singh alias Neema, a resident of Chungi No. 5 Jagraon. Police have presented all three accused in court and started interrogation.
SI Harpreet Singh of City Police Station said that he was going from Jagraon to Aligarh Road via Kotha Khajura while patrolling with the police party. When he reached near the drain, he saw that a car was parked on the side of the road. In which 3 people were sitting inside the car with the lights on and talking.
Based on suspicion, the police stopped their car and questioned the youths in the car.
When the car was searched, 6 strips of intoxicating pills and 100 blue-coloured open capsules were found in an envelope near the gearbox of the car. The police took immediate action.
