In Bathinda Police arrests youth in case of demanding ransom

Punjab: Police have arrested a youth who wrote a letter in the name of Khalistan and called a person living in village Dhipali in Bathinda and demanded a ransom of 6 lakh rupees. Police is searching for his two accomplices. Deepak Pareek IPS, SSP Bathinda, while giving information to the press, said that a ransom of 6 lakh rupees has been demanded from a person living in village Dhipali.

On an investigation, it was found that an unknown person entered the house of a landlord living in village Dhipali and gave a letter to the landlord’s servant and asked him to hand over this letter to his uncle.

The servant went inside the house and handed over the letter to the landlord. Khalistan Zindabad was written on it and 6 lakh rupees were demanded in the letter. If the money is not given, the landlord and his family will be in danger of life and property. The unknown person called again and demanded money, on which the landlord complained to the police.

The police registered a case on the basis of the statement of the landlord.

During the case investigation, it was found that Karam Singh alias Nikka, who had been living at the landlord’s house for many years and two other people who worked at the landlord’s house had formed a conspiracy to demand ransom. One of these three unknown accused was identified as Karam Singh alias Nikka resident of Dhipali and 2 other unknown persons were named.

During the investigation of the case, accused Karam Singh alias Nikka resident of Dhipali has been arrested. The remaining accused are being searched. The said accused will be produced in the court and police remand will be obtained, which is likely to lead to more important revelations.
