Jagraon: In a shocking incident, Some Nihangs attacked the police party after they went to conduct raid in village Kamalpur of Jagraon. In the incident, four personnel including SHO Police station Sadar and the In-charge Marado police post suffered injuries.
It has been learnt that the police have also arrested one of the accused while the remaining are absconding
Three miscreants targeted a farmer and while posing as Nihangs they robbed him of his Maruti Suzuki Alto Car. The incident occurred on January 14 near Sangowal on Tuesday when the farmer was driving towards his fields.
According to the farmer Manohar Singh of village Sangowal, three miscreants while posing as Nihangs signaled him to stop when he was driving towards his fields.
“I thought they needed some help and stopped the car. When I rolled down the window, the miscreants flashed sharp edged weapons and pointed towards my neck. They forced me to hand over the keys and then they drove away,” Farmer stated.
Manohar alerted the police immediately after the incident following which the Marado police initiated investigation into the matter.
