Punjab Congress leader Bajwa slams the central government

Chandigarh: Politics has started in the matter of details of sports funds released by the central government. Senior Punjab Congress leader and CLP leader in the assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa has surrounded the central government in this matter. He has accused the central government of bias in the fund distribution matter.

He said that Punjab and Haryana have sent 43 athletes to the Paris Olympics. Both the states have released Rs 78 and 43 crores, respectively. At the same time, UP and Gujarat have released Rs 438 and 426 crores.

Both states have sent nine athletes to the competition. He said that by doing this, the central government has behaved stepmotherly, which is not at all fair.

He says that the BJP leaders of Punjab should also raise this issue prominently.

Pratap Singh Bajwa has posted a post on his social media account X. In this, he has written that the wrong distribution of funds by the Modi government under the Khelo India scheme is a glaring example of injustice.

He has written in the post that Punjab and Haryana, the strongholds of Indian sports, were given only 78 crores and 66 crores, respectively, despite sending 43 athletes to the Paris Olympics. UP and Gujarat got 438 crores and 426 crores despite sending only 9 athletes. This stepmotherly treatment weakens our sports potential and regional talent.

Manu Bhaker has won the first medal for the country in the Paris Olympics. She is from Haryana. On the other hand, if we talk about the hockey team, most of the players in it are from Punjab. Apart from this, players from Punjab and Haryana.
