PSPCL to implement dress code for employees; action warned for non-compliance

Chandigarh: PSPCL officers and employees will no longer be able to wear flashy and short clothes while on duty. The department is preparing to implement a dress code for its employees. Action has been warned against non-compliance of orders.

All officers and employees will keep ID cards hanging around their necks during office hours. This information has been given in a letter issued by PSPCL. Keeping in mind the image of the department, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO has given instructions to maintain punctuality and discipline in offices.

The orders issued by the Managing Director of PSPCL said that all the officers and employees will wear formal attire during office hours.

Different dress codes for male and female employees

Under this, female employees or officers will wear salwar kameez suit, saree, formal shirt, trousers and male employees or officers will wear pants, full sleeve shirt, coat, sweater, coat-pants or kurta-pyjama.

According to the new orders, no officer will wear gaudy, short, low-waisted clothes, lower pants or sleeveless shirts. Khaki uniform will be mandatory for Class IV male employees, while white uniform and grey dupatta will be mandatory for Class IV female employees.

Employees’ uniforms will be coloured according to their ranks

All officers and employees will keep their identity cards and tags hanging around their necks during office hours. Therefore, along with the tags, the colour of the card holder has also been decided. Under this, those of the first rank will be without colour, those of the second rank will be blue, those of the third rank will be yellow, those of the fourth rank will be green and those working through external sources will have a card with a black coloured tag around their neck.

It is also said in the letter that if any employee violates this dress code, a charge sheet will be prepared against him as part of disciplinary action.
