Barnala: In Punjab, Akali leader Kulveer Singh Mann shot his mother and daughter dead. After this he also shot himself. This incident happened when his wife went to baught milk in the evening as usual. After that Mann carried out the crime with his revolver.
The incident took place on Saturday evening in Ram Rajya Colony of Barnala. The deceased have been identified as Kulveer Singh Mann, his mother Balwant Kaur and daughter Nimrat Kaur. When their pet dog started barking after hearing the sound of bullets, Kulveer also shot the dog dead.
The whole incident carried out within half an hour
Akali leader Kulveer Mann carried out all these incidents within half an hour. His wife Ramandeep Kaur had gone to get milk for the dog. When she returned home after half an hour, she was shocked. She saw that four dead bodies were scattered in the house.
Ramandeep Kaur started crying and screaming after seeing four dead bodies in the house. Hearing her voice, people of Ram Rajya Colony arrived and informed the police. After getting the information, the police arrived and started investigation.
Fired 6 bullets on daughter who recently returned from Canada
Kulveer Mann fired the most bullets on his 21-year-old daughter Nimrat Kaur. She returned from Canada some time ago to spend holidays with her parents. Kulveer fired 3 bullets from his licensed revolver on his daughter. Then he shot 2 bullets on the elderly mother and one bullet on the dog and ended its life.
Police said – Mann was in depression
DSP City of Barnala Satveer Singh Bains has said that the police investigation so far has revealed that Kulveer Singh Mann was in depression and he was also taking medicines for it. Recently, he had also undergone surgery. He also had trouble sleeping.
The incident was captured in the CCTV installed in the house
The DSP said that the CCTV camera installed in the house shows that Kulveer first killed his daughter. Then he killed his mother and dog. After this he shot himself. The bodies have been sent to the civil hospital. Their postmortem will be done today. After the statement of Kulveer’s wife, the police have started action under Section 174.
Mann has been an Akali leader
Kulveer Mann has been an Akali leader. He also has a deep relationship with Kulwant Singh Keetu, the Akali Dal in-charge from Barnala. Kulveer Mann has served the city as a Youth Akali leader. Apart from this, Mann has also been the president of Baba Kala Mahir Sports Club for a long time. Mann had a good image in the city as a social worker.
