Katani Kalan: Late night, a Punjab Police personnel coming from Samrala to Katani Kalan, under the influence of alcohol, created a ruckus over a trivial matter and opened fire in the air.
Police personnel who opened fire has been posted at Katani Kalan at post of ASI. A case has been registered against him.
According to the information, the complainant told in his statement to the police that he was going in his Swift car at around 1 o’clock on Thursday night. At the same time a car almost collided with his car. There was a policeman in the car who was also wearing uniform. The employee was under the influence of alcohol.
After a minor altercation between two, the police personnel created a ruckus. The matter escalated so much that the police personnel fired three shots in the air.
Complainant Jatinderpal called the control room on the spot. Police from Katani Kalan, an outpost under Kumkalan police station, reached the spot. Outpost in-charge Sub Inspector Jaspal Singh said that after investigation, the police had arrested the accused on the spot. Police have registered a case under Arms Act against the accused.
