Chandigarh: Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the letter written to PM Modi, BJP Punjab Chief Sunil Jakhar raised two important issues. He talked about the long-held demand to rename the Adampur Airport and the recreation of the green belt around Ravidas Temple.
In the letter written to PM Modi, he congratulated him for becoming the country’s Prime Minister for the third time in a row. Congratulating him on behalf of the people of Punjab, he said, “Your momentous third term in office as Prime Minister of India has provided new vigor to the people of the country, especially the constituents of Punjab, who see you as an embodiment of Viksit Bharat. On behalf of the people of Punjab, I would like to congratulate you for this historic rare feat.”
At the same time, he wrote about naming Adampur Airport as Guru Ravidas Airport and building a suitable garden around the Guru Ravidas temple in Tughlakabad. He said that the sentiments of the people of Punjab are attached to this.
Talking about the renaming of the airport, he said, “I take this opportunity to draw your attention towards two issues that have a deep emotional-spiritual bearing on the minds of people. These issues also find resonance with your commitment towards the society. The renaming of the Adampur Airport after the 15th-century spiritual sage Guru Ravidas, as already expressed by you during your recent visit to Punjab, will go a long way to underpin the ethos of spirituality in the diversity that binds India. “
Promise was made by PM Modi in Hoshiarpur rally
Actually, on the last day of the Lok Sabha election campaign, when the Prime Minister held his last election rally in Hoshiarpur, he promised to name Adampur Airport as Shri Guru Ravidas Airport.
Talking about the Guru Ravidas Temple in Tughlakabad in New Delhi. Jakhar said, “Besides, now that the Guru Ravidass temple in Tughlakabad in Delhi is to be recreated and remodeled to restore its original glory, it would be worthwhile to consider developing the areas around the Guru Ravidas temple into a serene Vatika (garden). “
He added that this construction of Vatika around the temple will enhance the shrine’s appeal without tinkering with the layout. This will inspire people from all over to soak in the egalitarian preaching of the revered saint.
