Jalandhar: On Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann campaigned for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates in the municipal elections in Jalandhar. He conducted a large roadshow with party leaders and workers, urging the public to support AAP candidates.

Present at the roadshow were AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, Executive President Shairy Kalsi, Cabinet Ministers Mohinder Bhagat, Harbhajan Singh ETO, Dr. Ravjot Singh, MLA Raman Arora, District President and Planning Board Chairman Amritpal Singh, Dinesh Dhall, and a significant number of party workers and local residents.

Addressing the gathering, CM Mann laid out a comprehensive development plan for Jalandhar city, promising to tackle pollution and enhance public transport by introducing electric buses with modern charging stations, eliminating garbage mounds, and improving the sewage system.

He highlighted the achievements of his government over the past two and a half years, stating that they have provided government jobs to 50,000 youth based solely on merit, without any bribery or recommendations. Mann noted that “mohalla clinics” have been established across Punjab, and efforts are being made to upgrade government hospitals and transform government schools into institutions of international standards.

He mentioned that 90% of households in Punjab are receiving free electricity, and farmers are getting sufficient power for daytime farming without cuts. The government has purchased the Goindwal Sahib Thermal Power Plant and is ensuring irrigation water reaches farms.

CM Mann appealed to the people of Jalandhar to vote on December 21 by rising above caste and religion, emphasizing the importance of voting for the future of their children and the development of their city. He explained that the ballot is not just a button on a voting machine but a symbol of hope for the people and better prospects for their children.

He reiterated that the Aam Aadmi Party is a party for the common people, giving young individuals from ordinary backgrounds the opportunity to enter politics. Mann also mentioned the modest family background of Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, whose father was a bandmaster, highlighting AAP’s commitment to inclusivity.
