Amritsar: An important meeting of police officers was held in Amritsar, Punjab regarding law and order. Police officers of Commissionerate Amritsar and border districts Gurdaspur, Batala, Amritsar Rural and Tarn Taran participated in the meeting chaired by DGP Gaurav Yadav.
The objective of this meeting was to strengthen the security system and maintain peace and harmony in view of Republic Day 2025. This is the second visit of DGP Gaurav Yadav to Amritsar after the incidents of bomb blasts started in Punjab from the month of November. The meeting mainly emphasized on anti-terrorism operations, action against drug trafficking and cracking down on organized crimes.
The police and security system was reviewed in detail and appropriate instructions were given to the concerned officers to ensure police presence at important places, conduct security operations and other preventive and investigative measures.
Strategy discussed
The meeting was attended by Special DGP (Internal Security), Anti-Narcotics Task Force, ADGP (Anti-Gangster Task Force), Commissioner of Police (Amritsar), DIG (Border Range), concerned SSPs and all gazetted officers of border districts.
The strategy of anti-terrorism operations before Republic Day was discussed to make it more effective. Instructions were given to take strict action against drug trafficking and organized crimes.
Orders to take concrete steps for law and order
The officers were instructed to intensify security operations in sensitive areas and maintain better coordination with the community. This meeting was an important part of the efforts taken to ensure security during Republic Day and maintain peace and law and order in the state. The officers were instructed to remain alert to deal with every kind of emergency and take concrete steps to strengthen the security system.
