Punjab: EC declared paid holiday on June 1: Decision taken to increase voting pc

Jalandhar : June 1 has been declared a holiday in Punjab due to Lok Sabha elections. During this period, there will be paid leave in government, non-government offices, banks, institutions, factories and shops.

It has been said in the order that this decision was taken so that people could vote in the Lok Sabha elections in the state of Punjab. This time the Election Commission has set the target of voting beyond 70%. For this, many steps are being taken by the Election Commission.

Liquor vends will remain closed from 30th

Liquor vends will remain closed even before the voting from 6:00 pm on 30th May 2024 to 6:00 pm on 1st June 2024 and on the counting day of 4th June 2024 (whole day). This decision has also been taken by the Commission. During this period, liquor will not be served in hotels, restaurants and pubs.

Ban on storage of liquor in unlicensed premises

During this period, liquor will not be sold in any hotel, restaurant, club, community center, CSD canteen, shops or any public place. Storage of liquor will be strictly controlled. The ban on storage of liquor in unlicensed premises will be strictly enforced.
