The people of Khadur Sahib Lok Sabha Constituency have made Amritpal Singh Member of Parliament by making him winning with a big margin. Amritpal Singh has defeated Congress candidate Kulbir Singh Zira by 1,97,120 votes. It is being said that now as he won the elections with huge margin, he will come out of the Dibrugarh Jail.
In this case, his lawyer RS Bains said that the people of Khadur Sahib elected Amritpal Singh and sent him to the Parliament. The Punjab government should respect the decision in favor of Amritpal Singh. He further added that NSA against him should be taken back and along with this he should be brought out of jail.
He also mentioned Simranjit Singh Mann. He said earlier NSA was also imposed on Simarjit Singh Mann. While he was in jail, he contested elections and later was released from jail after winning the elections.
Giving one more example of George Fernandes, he said that the biggest example of this is that of George Fernandes, against whom the government also withdrew the case. The Punjab government should remove the NSA imposed on Amritpal Singh and allow him to work in his Lok Sabha constituency.
Let me tell you that NSA has been imposed on Amritpal for 1 year but it is reviewed every 3 months and it will be reviewed by 24th July. RS Bains says that we have challenged the NSA imposed on Amritpal in the Punjab Haryana High Court, and a hearing may be held in July.
