Punjab hikes state agreed price of sugarcane by Rs 11 per quintal

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday announced a state-agreed price (SAP) hike for sugarcane by Rs 11 per quintal. “Cane growers will get Rs 391 per quintal,” he wrote on X.

Farmers who were protesting lifted their protest after getting assurance from CM Mann. CM Mann assured farmers that prices of sugarcane will be increased so much that the rates in Punjab will be the highest in the country. Now as per his words, CM today took to X and announced rate of Rs 391 per quintal for cane.

In the post he said, “There is an auspicious omen of 11 rupees in Punjab…From now on Rs 11 has been increased for sugarcane farmers of Punjab…Now the rate of sugarcane in Punjab is 391 rupees more than the rest of the country. Punjabis will get good news in the coming time..”

Haryana has recently enhanced sugarcane SAP to Rs 386 per quintal.
