Amritsar: In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police as per the information from intelligence busted an interstate weapon smuggling racket. Police also apprehended 2 operatives of foreign-based terrorist Lakhbir alias Landa. The initial information has been shared by DGP Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav on his X handle.
The post read that In an intelligence-based operation, Punjab Police busted an interstate weapon smuggling module. Police in this operation apprehended 2 operatives of foreign-based terrorist Lakhbir alias Landa. Police also recovered six sophisticated pistols along with magazines and ammunition.
FIR has been registered at State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar. The investigation is ongoing to establish backward & forward linkages to further arrest the remaining accused and dismantle illegal weapon smuggling operating from Madhya Pradesh.
It further said that stern action will be taken against all involved in organized crime & illegal weapon networks.
