Chandigarh: The police have reached the culprit who caused loss to the government treasury by creating a fake website of the mining department in Punjab. The State Cyber ​​Crime Division has arrested the main accused who created the fake website. The accused has been identified as Gaurav Kumar. DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav has given this information by posting on social media account X.

The hearing of the case of illegal mining in Punjab was going on in the Punjab and Haryana High Court for a long time. During this, the mining department had told during the hearing in the month of February that the department has taken strict steps to stop illegal mining.

But some people have created a fake website similar to the department’s website. Mining permits are being issued illegally from there. After the hearing, a case was registered in the State Cyber ​​Cell. After which this case has been registered.

After this, when the State Cyber ​​Cell started investigating this case, it was revealed that this was a completely planned work. By doing this, the people involved in this gang have caused a loss of 40 to 50 lakhs to the state revenue. The investigation also revealed that a mining businessman had made a deal to bypass the security check.

More than two thousand receipts were created using QR codes and barcodes The police is busy uncovering the entire nexus. The agency is busy collecting the backup of the website. Along with this, fake receipts, photographs of vehicles and sources and destinations of mining material and computer details and data used in the crime have been recovered.
