Chandigarh: In Punjab, the police busted a smuggling racket operating across the border, arresting two smugglers and seizing 105 kilograms of heroin, 31.93 kilograms of caffeine anhydrous, 17 kilograms of DMR, five foreign pistols, and one country-made gun.
Punjab’s Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, reported on Sunday that the police have made the largest heroin seizure in the state’s history by arresting two associates of foreign drug trafficker Navpreet Singh, also known as Nav Bhullar. The arrested smugglers have been identified as Navjot Singh and Lovepreet Kumar. DGP Yadav explained that the smugglers used waterways to bring drugs from Pakistan.
He mentioned that large rubber tubes from tires were also recovered, indicating that the drug trafficking was conducted via waterways. An FIR has been filed at the PS State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar.
