Chandigarh, April 19: In a major crackdown on cross-border terrorism, Punjab Police has busted two ISI-backed terror modules operated by Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) from abroad. The intelligence-led operations led to the recovery of a massive cache of arms and explosives, dealing a significant blow to transnational terror networks targeting Punjab.
Major seizure includes:
♦2 Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs), including a launcher
♦2 IEDs (2.5kg each)
♦2 Hand Grenades with detonators
♦2 kg RDX (remote controlled)
♦5 Pistols (Beretta & Glock), 6 magazines, 44 live catridges
♦1 wireless set and 3 vehicles
Module 1: France-Based BKI Operation
Mastermind: Satnam Singh @ Satta (Hoshiarpur Native, operating from France)
Recovery: RPG (loaded), IEDs, hand grenades, RDX, Pistols, wireless set
Arrested: Jatinder @Honey, Jagjit @ jagga (Kapurthala), Harpreet & Jagroop (Hoshiarpur)
FIR: Registered under UAPA and Explosives Act at SSOC Amritsar.
Module 2: Greece-Pakistan BKI Nexus
Mastermind: Jaswinder @ Mannu Agwan (Gurdaspur native, operating from Greece), linked to Pak-based Harvinder Rinda.
Recovery: RPG launcher, Beretta& Glock Pistols, Catridges, vehicles
Arrested: 9 operatives, including a minor
FIR: Registered under UAPA and Explosives Act in Batala.
Punjab DGP termed the operations a major success in countering foreign-sponsored terrorism and vowed continued efforts to safeguard the state’s peace and stability.
