Jalandhar Police conducts search operation ahead of August 15

Jalandhar: Punjab has been put on red alert for Independence Day. During this, Joint Police Commissioner Sandeep Sharma conducted a search operation at the city railway station on Friday afternoon for the security of Jalandhar city.

During this operation, the police questioned the people at the station, stopped suspicious persons, and searched their bags. During this, the police dog squad also checked the unclaimed items of the people and parcels kept on the platform.

The Joint Police Commissioner said that for the security of the city, blockades are being put up at the railway station as well as major intersections and bus stands and the entry points of the city, suspicious persons are being searched, and four-wheelers coming and going are also being searched. At the same time, special checking of vehicles coming from Jammu is also being done at Pathankot Chowk. A police blockade has also been done by Police Station No. 8 near Reru Chowk. He said that on the orders of Hon’ble Jalandhar Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma, many important steps are being taken by the police for the safety of the city residents.
