Punjab records 1638 incidents of stubble fire, 16 percent dip recorded in comparison to last year

Chandigarh: The weather has started taking a curve in Punjab. The first dense fog of the season was seen this morning, due to which the speed of vehicles slowed down on the roads in the morning. Along with this, there was no significant change in the temperature of Punjab and Chandigarh during the last 24 hours. The temperature was found to be 2.2 degrees above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry in Punjab and Chandigarh for the next one week, but the increasing level of pollution will disturb the people.

There is also a new update on Punjab weather. In fact, the Meteorological Department has predicted a sudden increase in cold in the state. The department said that the state’s weather may change from October 26, due to which the cold will increase.

On the other hand, maintaining the trend of reducing stubble burning cases, Punjab has achieved significant success in controlling the problem of stubble burning. Till October 23 this year, there has been a 16 percent decline in stubble-burning cases compared to last year.

At present, the pollution level of all other cities except Mandi Gobindgarh is in the yellow zone. While Mandi Gobindgarh recorded an average air quality index (AQI) of 226. Also, AQI was recorded at 322 here at 6 pm on Thursday.

Punjab has so far recorded 1,638 incidents of farm fires, which is 16 percent less than last year. Last year till October 23, there were 1,946 incidents of farm fires in the state.
