Chandigarh, May 3: The Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government has achieved a historic milestone in tax revenue collection, recording the state’s highest-ever monthly GST collection in April 2025. According to official data, Punjab collected Rs. 2,654 crore in GST revenue during the month, marking a significant surge in the state’s economic activity.
This is the highest GST collection Punjab has ever recorded in a single month since the introduction of the goods and services tax.
Year-on-Year Growth:
- ♦Compared to April 2024’s collection of Rs. 2,216 crore, the revenue in April 2025 shows an impressive increase of Rs. 438 crore
- ♦This marks a 19.77% year-on-year growth, highlighting sustained economic momentum and improved compliance.
Month-on-month surge:
- ♦Compared to March 2025’s collection of Rs. 2,027 crore, April saw a dramatic rise of Rs. 627 crore.
- ♦This represents a 30.93% month-on-month increase, indicating a sharp uptick in business and trade activities across the state.
Officials from the state government attribute the surge to strengthened enforcement, increased economic activity, and effective tax administration. The record-breaking figures reflect growing business confidence and enhanced revenue performance under the Mann administration.
