Punjab State Child Rights Commission takes against teacher in Phillaur

Phillaur: The Punjab State Child Rights Protection Commission has itself taken cognizance of the case of a teacher brutally beating children for not doing homework in a primary school in village Lasada in Punjab. The commission has written a letter to SSP Jalandhar (rural) in this matter and asked to take action as per the rules. An action report has been sought from the police in this regard by July 30.

Chairman of Punjab State Child Rights Protection Commission Kanwardeep Singh said that there have been reports about this in the media. Family members of children studying in the government primary school of village Lasada have alleged that the teacher there slapped the children and beat them with sticks for not completing their homework.

This incident involves children aged 8 and 10 years. After which a report has been sought. He said that action will be taken as per the rules after the police receive the report.
