Punjab Train Explosion: Firecracker blast in Amritsar-Howrah Mail near Sirhind, 4 passengers injured

Sirhind: A sudden blast in a train took place near Sirhind railway station in Fatehgarh Sahib. In this sudden explosion, 4 passengers were injured. As per information, the blast occurred in the general bogie of the train.

The bogie was filled with smoke after the blast which caused panic and commotion among people. Luckily, the speed of the train was slow, due to which the passengers were able to ran out to save their lives. Some passengers jumped while came out through the emergency window.

Injured were admitted to the Civil Hospital of Fatehgarh Sahib. There was panic among the passengers after the blast in the train.

The blast occurred in the train (train number 13006) which was going from Amritsar to Howrah. Railway police and department officials also reached the spot at midnight. During the incident, the train was stopped at Sirhind railway station for about half an hour.

GRP DSP Jagmohan Singh reached the spot with his team. He inspected the affected bogie. Investigation revealed that a passenger was going to his village with firecrackers along with his luggage. The firecrackers were kept in a bucket. Due to an electrical short circuit in the bogie, the firecrackers caught fire and there was an explosion. Four passengers including the couple were injured in the incident.
