Punjab Weather: Cold wave continues in many districts of Punjab, yellow alert till December 14, no chance of rain

Along with snowfall in the mountains, a cold wave is also prevailing in Punjab and Chandigarh. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of cold wave till December 14. During the last 24 hours, the average maximum temperature of Punjab has increased by 0.4 degrees and the temperature of Chandigarh by 0.3 degrees.

However, the temperature in the state is 3 degrees below normal. The highest temperature in Punjab has been recorded in Anandpur Sahib at 22.2 degrees. The temperature of all the other districts has been lower than this. The lowest temperature was recorded in Gurdaspur and Pathankot. People are facing severe difficulties in the morning and evening.

Today, there is a yellow alert of cold wave in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Bathinda, Mansa, Sangrur, Rupnagar and Mohali, adjacent to Himachal. There is no rain alert yet. In such a situation, the weather will remain dry.

According to the Meteorological Department, the possibility of many diseases like flu, runny nose increases. Which are usually caused or aggravated by prolonged exposure to cold. Do not ignore shivering, this is the first sign that the body’s heat is being lost. In such a situation, come indoors.

Prolonged exposure to cold can cause cold. The skin becomes pale, hard and numb, resulting in black blisters appearing on exposed parts of the body like fingers, toes, nose, and earlobes. Severe frostbite requires immediate medical attention and treatment.
